Microneedling Surrey

Treatment Overview

Microneedling (also referred to as collagen induction therapy) is an advanced regenerative skin treatment designed to improve a wide range of skin concerns including acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines, pigmentation, uneven tone and general skin damage.

This minimally invasive treatment works by creating controlled micro-injuries within the dermal tissues. These micro-channels activate the body’s natural wound-healing response, triggering powerful collagen stimulation, elastin production and tissue regeneration.

At HAVA Aesthetics in Esher, Surrey, we use the FDA-cleared SkinPen® Precision device to deliver clinically proven microneedling treatments that restore skin elasticity, improve texture and strengthen overall tissue volume without surgery.

How Microneedling Works

Microneedling works through controlled micro-injury. Once tiny channels are created within the dermal tissues, the body releases growth factors that stimulate:

  • Collagen production
  • Elastin synthesis
  • Scar remodelling
  • Tissue repair
  • Epidermal renewal

As collagen remodels over time, skin becomes firmer, smoother and more resilient. This makes microneedling particularly effective for patients experiencing collagen deficiency linked to ageing or sun exposure. Unlike treatments that only resurface the epidermis, microneedling strengthens deeper structural layers.

Benefits of Microneedling

Microneedling offers long-term structural improvement for multiple skin conditions.

Benefits include:

  • Improved skin elasticity
  • Reduction in acne scars and stretch marks
  • Improved uneven skin tone
  • Reduction in enlarged pores
  • Improvement in pigmentation
  • Support for sagging skin

It is safe across a wide range of skin types and suitable for year-round treatment.

What Is SkinPen® Precision?

At HAVA Aesthetics, we exclusively use SkinPen Precision, a clinically tested, medical-grade microneedling device trusted worldwide for its safety and precision. This advanced technology is designed to deliver controlled, consistent collagen stimulation for reliable, regenerative results.

SkinPen® ensures precise depth control and uniform micro-channel creation, allowing treatment to be tailored to specific skin concerns and areas of the face. It offers enhanced safety across a wide range of skin types and reduces the risks often associated with unregulated or at-home devices.

Microneedling for Acne Scars

Microneedling is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for acne scars, including:

  • Rolling scars
  • Boxcar scars
  • Mild ice-pick scars

By stimulating collagen stimulation beneath depressed scars, the treatment gradually lifts and smooths uneven tissue. Over multiple sessions, collagen remodels scarred dermal tissues, leading to progressive improvement.

Microneedling for Stretch Marks

Microneedling is also highly effective for treating stretch marks on the abdomen, thighs, arms and other body areas.

Stretch marks form due to rapid skin expansion and collagen disruption. By activating growth factors and stimulating dermal repair, microneedling improves texture, tone and structural integrity in affected areas.

Microneedling for Skin Damage & Pigmentation

Microneedling improves:

  • Sun-induced skin damage
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Post-inflammatory pigmentation
  • Dull complexion
  • Textural irregularities

The controlled healing process enhances skin rejuvenation and strengthens compromised skin.

Microneedling for Fine Lines & Collagen Deficiency

As collagen levels naturally decline, skin elasticity reduces and fine lines appear.

Microneedling supports:

  • Collagen deficiency correction
  • Softening of fine lines
  • Mild tightening of sagging skin
  • Long-term dermal remodelling

It is an ideal early intervention skin treatment for age-related structural changes.

Microneedling vs RF Microneedling

Standard microneedling works by creating controlled mechanical micro-injuries within the skin, triggering natural growth factor release and stimulating collagen production. This process improves overall skin texture and quality through regenerative healing.

RF microneedling combines traditional microneedling with radiofrequency energy, delivering controlled heat into deeper layers of the skin to promote additional tightening and firmer structural support. This makes it particularly beneficial for patients experiencing more advanced skin laxity.

Traditional microneedling is ideal for concerns such as acne scars, stretch marks, pigmentation, early skin laxity, and surface-level skin damage. RF microneedling may be more suitable for those requiring deeper tissue tightening and enhanced lifting effects.

During your consultation at our Surrey clinic, we carefully assess your skin condition and goals to determine the most appropriate treatment for you.

Microneedling vs Chemical Peels

Chemical peels resurface the epidermis using acids.

Microneedling:

  • Stimulates deeper dermal tissues
  • Improves acne scars more effectively
  • Addresses collagen deficiency
  • Improves structural skin elasticity

Peels improve surface tone.
Microneedling rebuilds structural support.

Both can be combined for enhanced results.

What to Expect During Treatment

Average Treatment Time: 30–60 minutes.

Your appointment includes:

  • Comprehensive consultation
  • Assessment of skin conditions
  • Personalised treatment plan
  • Topical anaesthetic application
  • Controlled SkinPen® treatment

The procedure is generally well tolerated.

Recovery Time & Healing Timeline

Recovery following microneedling is minimal, making it a convenient treatment for those with busy lifestyles. Most patients are able to return to normal daily activities shortly after their appointment.

Within the first 24–48 hours, you may experience redness and warmth in the treated area, similar to a mild sunburn. This is a normal inflammatory response and typically settles quickly.

By days 3–5, many patients begin to notice visible improvements in skin brightness and texture as the initial healing phase progresses. Over the following 4–6 weeks, collagen production continues to increase beneath the surface of the skin.

Results continue to improve gradually over several weeks as collagen remodels and tissue strength and density enhance, leading to smoother, firmer, and more refined skin quality.

How Many Sessions Are Needed?

For mild skin concerns:
1–2 sessions may be sufficient.

For acne scars, stretch marks or deeper skin damage:
3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart are recommended.

Maintenance sessions may be advised annually.

Is Microneedling Safe?

Microneedling is safe when performed by trained medical professionals using certified devices.

We avoid treatment in cases of:

  • Active skin infections
  • Uncontrolled acne outbreaks
  • Unstable keloid scarring
  • Certain inflammatory skin conditions

A full consultation ensures safety and suitability.

Combining Microneedling with Other Treatments

Microneedling can be combined with other aesthetic treatments to enhance and accelerate overall skin rejuvenation outcomes. By addressing multiple layers of the skin, we can create more comprehensive and longer-lasting improvements.

It is often paired with hyaluronic acid skin boosters to increase hydration, polynucleotides to support regenerative repair, and chemical peels to refine surface texture and pigmentation. Wrinkle relaxing injections may be used to soften dynamic lines, while dermal filler treatments can restore structural volume where needed. This multi-layered approach allows us to tailor treatment precisely to your skin concerns and aesthetic goals.
